Cars are brutal for fragrances. Heat + sunlight + AC airflow basically destroy cheap air fresheners, especially the ones loaded with alcohol and synthetic citrus notes. That’s why they smell amazing on Day 1 and weird/plastic-like by Day 3.

The brands that actually perform well usually use:

better fragrance oils

deeper base notes (woods, musk, leather, oud)

slower diffusion instead of an instant scent blast
